Please note airline
travel is at record
highs this summer and
security lines are likely to be
long. They are
also extra slow as many of the travelers are vacationers who
aren’t as familiar with the TSA restrictions.

Please checkin
at least 2 hours
prior for domestic flights
and 3 hours
for international flights.
Allow extra time for parking or rental car return.
While in line
for security clearance, remember to remove shoes, belts if
metal, coats and change. Also have your 1 quart bag with any
liquids or gels in hand ready to be screened. Also, don't be shy
about telling others in line what they will need to do as
confusion is a large part of the delays.

AMERICANS SHOULD CHECK PASSPORT FOR POSSIBLE ERRORS
Some say the likelihood of errors on the millions of passports
currently being processed is growing and Americans receiving new
ones should check them carefully. An error on a passport could cause
delays at airports or even result in being denied travel. (Chicago
Tribune)

THE PRICE OF OVERPACKING
Airline baggage restrictions are getting
tougher--and more expensive. Most airlines now limit luggage to one
carry-on and two checked pieces; after that, expect to pay $80 or
more for each extra bag. And all checked luggage must meet strict
weight and size limits. Here's how overpacking for domestic flights
can lighten your wallet. (AARP)

FREQUENT FLIER FOOLISHNESS
Frequent-flier
programs can certainly benefit frequent travelers. But sometimes
travelers get so caught up in the game that they make foolish
mistakes. This is especially true of only-occasional travelers, who
may not benefit from frequent-flier programs at all. Charlie Leocha
gives seven tips for avoiding frequent-flier trouble. (Tripso)

SUMMER AIRLINE WOES
Soon it will be summer, a time of lamentation
throughout the land. Or at least lamentation at the airports, where
long lines, full planes, small crews, delayed flights and lost
luggage all add up to a season of woe. Charlie Leocha says this year
will be worse than usual, and offers some tips for defensive flying.

MAKING A SCENE AT THE AIRPORT
Have the frustrations of air travel ever
made you see red? Have you ever crossed the line and gone really
berserk? Many have, and I am not talking about just the psychopaths
or the easily irritated; I'm talking about your average housewife,
businessman and vacationer. Given the right provocation, even your
granny could make a scene at the airport. (Tripso)
