NHTraveler Sep10 Update
It has been brought to our attention by one of our alert readers (thank you Mary) that an article in our September newsletter emailed earlier today may not be accurate. The article titled “Hotel key cards – ever wonder what is on your magnetic key card?” suggests that personal information is encoded on the key card and is easily accessible.
According to Snopes.com, the Claim: “Hotel room keycards are routinely encoded with personal infomation which can be harvested by theives.” is false. You can read more about this subject at http://www.snopes.com/crime/warnings/hotelkey.asp.
